The International School of Tucson hosted its first Tucson Japanese Culture Festival on November 19, 2023. This free and open to the public event highlighted a number of local performers, presenters, workshops, and experiences.
Participating groups included the Suzuyuki Kai, Nakamura Sisters, Yasui-ke, Tagawa Trio, Tucson Japanese Language School Choir, Kodenkan Center Dojo, Mari Newhouse, Oharu Studio, Tucson Kendo Kai, Odaiko Sonora, Southern Arizona Japanese Cultural Coalition, Tucson Origami Club, Japanese American Student Association at the University of Arizona, Japanese Christian Church of Tucson, Japanese Outreach Initiative, and the Tucson Kimono Club
